JUNIOR   CONSERVATION CAMP

    JUNE  22- 26, 2009

DATE

Junior Conservation Camp will be held June 22-26, 2009, at Cedar Lakes, Ripley, West Virginia.

AGE

Junior Conservation Camp is open to anyone from the age of 11 through 14 years.  Please make sure when selecting a camper that he/she is of the proper age.  There will be no exceptions to the age requirement.  Camper must be age 11 by June 22, 2009, and must not reach age 15 on or before June 26, 2009.

COST

The cost is $150 per camper which includes food and lodging.  Make your check payable to:  “WV Department of Environmental Protection” and mail with the form  below prior to May 1, 2009 to:

Upon receipt of payment, the camper registration form will be forwarded to the contact person listed on the attached application form.  The name of the camper is not required at this time.

A DAY AT CAMP

 

A wide variety of classes that focus on environmental education are held in the mornings.  Campers learn about nature, wildlife, forestry, solid waste management and various other environmental issues.

Echoes of laughter and cheer can be heard as campers root for their teammates and join in the fun of various sports activities.

Many dedicated and knowledgeable people from environmental agencies devote their time to assist with Junior Conservation Camp.  Agencies that have provided leaders for Junior Camp are:

LOCATION

 

Cedar Lakes is located in the western part of West Virginia on I-77 between Charleston and Parkersburg.  Take the Fairplain – Ripley exit and follow the signs to Cedar Lakes Road.  Transportation to and from camp is the responsibility of the camper.
