MOUNTAIN LAUREL GARDEN CLUB
"CREATING A LEGACY ONE SEED AT A TIME"
Being located in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, gives Mountain Laurel members a deep appreciation for nature and the environment. Meetings are held the third Monday evening of the month at various members’ homes. Each month’s program is different – such as flower arranging, wildflower walks, guest speakers, creating concrete leaves and pots, and working on community projects. Our president’s project at this time is creating an outdoor classroom at Fairview Elementary School.
Dues are $15 per year. April plant sale and October auction are held yearly as fund raisers, and club has a flower show every two years. Mountain Laurel is consistently awarded a CLUB OF EXCELLENCE CERTIFICATE yearly. Members consist of all ages and all levels of experience including 8 Tennessee Master Gardeners, and a National Garden Club Master Judge. Interested gardeners are welcome and may become members at the third meeting they attend. Anyone interested in attending a meeting should check Daily Times club news for contact information.
