Pleasant Hills Garden Club
AWARDS
In an award ceremony, Gloria presented the awards that were given at the district meeting.
Danna received the Butterfly Award. This is the top award given by District X. Each club nominates the most accomplished person based on their contributions of the past year. The winner receives the Butterfly Pin, which is passed on to next year’s winner.
The Laurel Award was received by Mary. The award is given for outstanding, well balanced over all programs as a chairperson and as a member. Mary will be the new District X director.
Also presented to Barb was the Outstanding Horticulture Award, as well as Daffodil Awards to Carol McKee, Ginger Paulson, and Mary Markle. New members, Jan Rowland, Mary Mueller and Pat Czapik all received the Tulip Award.
The Let Freedom Ring Garden was honored to receive a Community Greening Award 2007 on October the 28th. The award was given by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society. At a special award ceremony, a framed certificate and large metal sign, which will be placed in the garden, was received. A picture of the garden will be part of the society’s visual presentation. This honor was received because of the hard work and perseverance of Charlene Bowyer, community groups that contributed and the club members that worked on it.
