Fall District Meeting October 25, 2008 Mt. Hood District had our Fall District meeting October 25, 2008 at the Hood River Community Building in Odell, Oregon. There were three OSFGC officers present. President Sherry Cossey, 2nd Vice President Garnet Ascher and Recording Secretary Bertha Keith. Our program was the "Return of the Designing Divas". The last time we hosted the district meeting in 2006 we had Designing Divas and it was so well received we decided to do it again. Last time we had OSFGC State President Marcia Kay Whitelock, Sue Kerslake, and Alfretta Spores as our Designing Divas. This year OSFGC State President Sherry Cossey, 2nd Vice President Garnet Ascher and a retired Floral Shop owner, Suzanne Workman as our DIVAS. 1st Vice President Karen Brown had to cancel because of a bad cold. Suzanne welcomed the challenge. There were 51 garden club members, 2 guests and 3 escorts for our Divas present. Good time, great food and entertaining and educational program. | | Suzanne tells us about why she did what she did. In the first one she used laurel, Chinese Lanterns, yellow dahlias and orange roses. In the middle one she used, Beauty berry, horse tails and roses. In the large vase she used cattails, weeping cypress, horsetails and (love lies bleeding) amaranthus. |
