| The Fall MT Hood District Meeting was held November 3rd 2007 in Hood River, hosted by the Hood River Valley Evening Garden Club. Our previous past Mt Hood Director Katie Olson introduced the 2007-2009 Director Pam Crider and the meeting was called to order. Invocation given by the District Chaplain Verna Martin, Odell Garden Club. President Jennifer Harty lead the Pledge of Allegiance and gave the welcome, the Conservation Pledge by HRVE member Susan Hayes. Maupin Dig & Hoe President Anna Nolen gave response to the welcome. Celilo Garden Club President Phyllis Olson was voted in as Secretary Pro Tem. The minutes and Tresurer's reports were approved as circulated. |
Pam Crider gave the Director's report outlining materials from the OSFGC Fall Board meeting included in the club presidentıs packs. And brief reviews of the two new district 1st Annual Events: Garden Tour and the Zucchini Cookoff. Dufur Valley Garden Club will host the 2008 Garden Tour in Dufur. Odell Garden Club President Norma Curtis was awarded a state Certificate of Appreciation along with Karen Varty for their completion of the state directory handbook, at the state meeting in Klamath Falls. Awards were given by the District Chairman Vickie Ward. District Certificates of Appreciation were presented to: Maupin Dig & Hoe President Anna Nolen for outstanding leadership and to Larry and Modene Miles of Milestone Nursery for their continuing efforts in the growth and conservation of native plants. This award was presented to the Miles at Milestone Nursery in Lyle WA on November 11th. Certificates for increases of membership were give to; HRVE, Dufur Valley, Maupin Dig & Hoe and Parkdale Garden Clubs. A Certificate of Commemoration from National Garden Club was given to Odell Garden Club for their Patriotic Tree planting held on March 25th, 2006. Also included a Certificate Of Donation made to Habitat for Humanity by the 2005-2007 OSFGC President Marcia Kay Whitelock, her personal thank you for taking part in the 2005-2007 NGC Presidentıs Project. Club Certificates of Appreciation were given by Maupin Dig & Hoe President Anna Nolen to Emilou Ely and Carol Jones. Parkdale Garden Club, presented by the District Awards Chairman- to Mary Lou Larsen. Odell Garden Club Vice President Jackie Shaw gave a OSFGC Life Membership to Norma Curtis from their club. District Chairman's reports were given by Pam Lago- Books, Katie Olson- Bylaws, Chaplain / Memorials & Sunshine- Verna Martin, Shilah Olson- Conservation read by Katie Olson, Pam Crider- District Directory, Membership, Special Projects and Web Site, Eva Piattıs Seal Designs reviewed, Mary Lou Larsen- Native Plants, Phyllis Olson- Parliamentarian and Mary Lindhorst- Youth Gardening.
Maupin Dig & Hoe member Kathy Peck gave a report on Maupin's Cookbook which was offered for sale at the meeting. A creative fund raiser, monies raised go to the Blue Star Memorial Marker refurbishing and move of the marker to the City Park at Henry's. |  Mt Hood District Youth Gardening Chairman and Dufur Valley Garden Club member Mary Lindhorst.

A Creative Line Mass featuring fall fruit and or flowers- District Flower Show winners were announced. 1st place went to Odell- designer Jackie Shaw, 2nd HRVE- designer Susan Hayes, 3rd Celilo- designer Phyllis Olson, 4th Dufur Valley- designer Katie Olson and honorable mention Parkdale- design by Mary Lou Larsen. | |

There was no Unfinished or New Business. YEAH! The program on Bioswells and Rain Gardens was given by Hood River County Master Gardener and Hood River Soil and Water Conservation Districtıs assistant office manager, Jorden Kim. District Treasurer gave the report of income from the silent raffle and registration and the meeting adjourned. The spring meeting will be hosted by Maupin Dig & Hoe sometime after March 10th, 2008. | | | |  | Meeting Room
