Creating New Revenue Streams
for Not-for-profit Organizations
Green Seal
From 1998 through 2003, Bryan Thomlison was the Chairman of Green Seal, America's preeminent environmental certification organization.
During Bryan's tenure, Green Seal dramatically changed its revenue model by reducing its reliance on grantmakers for 90% of its funds to less than 10%.
Now Green Seal generates most of its revenue by advising and assisting government agencies, universities, and the lodging and architectural building industries in their efforts to "green" their purchasing, operations, and facilities management functions. Additionally, the environmental certification of products provides the other major revenue stream.
