April 14
1st Membership meeting.
6:30PM  Old Town Hall
“Good Soil – Great Garden”
Speaker:  Master Gardener, Ed McMonagle
Introduction Bring and Take Table

May 12
Membership meeting

“Growing Great Roses in New Hampshire”
Gordon Geick, member of NH Rose Society
Bring and Take Table begins

May 17
“Dig Day”
  travel to members gardens to dig up perennials for the plant sale and to swap.  Plan to bring a picnic lunch, we will have relax time! Meet at Ginny’s on Putney Road at 10:00AM

May 24
“Annual Plant Sale”
  
Bow Community Building 9AM – 1PM.  Plan to help unload plants on Friday night.  We will be selling annuals, perennials   that we dig up on the 17th.  We will also be having a bulb sale.

May 31
“Planting Day” 
Civic Beautification - planting day.  Meet at Rotary Park at 8:00AM.  Coffee and donughts will be provided.  If you have never done it, try it, you’ll like it!

June 1 – 7
National Garden Week

A plant will be donated to the Baker Free Library in celebration of National Garden Week.

June 9
Membership Meeting


“Pruning Your Trees and Shrubs”  
Meet at Rotary Park at 6:00PM.  David Seavey will demonstrate pruning techniques.  We will then head to Bow Old Town Hall for the rest of his presentation and our regular meeting.

July 19
“Bow in Bloom”
garden tour.  Starting point for the tour will be the Gazebo.  Participants will tour five of Bow’s beautiful gardens as well as the Rotary Park Community Garden.  They will be treated to wonderful floral arrangements at each garden and will be able to purchase raffle tickets to win one to take home.  The rain date for the tour will be Sunday, July 20.  We will preview gardens on Friday July 18.

August 11
Membership Meeting
6:30PM Bow Old Town Hall
“Integrated Pest Management (IPM)”.  
Dot Perkins, Program Coordinator (Merrimack County Master Gardeners), Agricultural Resources/UNH Cooperative Extension, will talk to us about how to handle common garden insect problems using fewer chemical pesticides, providing for a healthier environment.

September 8

“Wintering Over, Bulbs and Plants/Propagating and Rooting”
Presenter, Joyce Kimball, Master Gardener.

October 6
Membership Meeting
6:30PM Bow Old Town Hall
“Landscaping Your Yard with Native Species”
Speaker to be announced
This will be information night for the Poinsettia Sale.  
Sale packets will be distributed.

November 1 – 7
Poinsettia Sale in full swing.                                                         

November 4
“Town Election Day”
BGC Information Table. Poinsettia sale info and basket raffle.

November 17
Membership Meeting

“Floral Arranging – Make and Take”
Presenter, Joanne Krause, Master Flower Show Judge, will do a presentation on
“Holiday Flair”. Arrangements will be raffled, so be sure to bring you money!

December 5
Poinsettias delivered to Old Town Hall
Volunteers need to unload plants.

December 6
Pick up for Poinsettias.  9AM – 1PM
“Greens Workshop”  9:00AM

Members will make wreaths and swags for town buildings and sites.

December 13
Annual Meeting Brunch
9:00AM Bow Old Town Hall
Pot Luck Brunch
Yankee Swap “Be Creative”!
Installation of officers for 2009 – 2010.  
Joyce Kimball, President NHFGC, will officiate.
