FLOWER SHOWS 2008
April 2008 Gardeners of the Junior League will present a Small-Standard Flower Show, Watercolors, on April 1, 2008, at the Sumner Village Community Center. A Small-Standard Flower Show, Spring Green, will be held on April 2, 2008, by Tanta-Cove Garden Club at the home of Shirley Nicolai. The Washington Daffodil Society will present a Standard Flower Show, Fresh Beginnings, on April 5-6, 2008. It will be open to the public at Brookside Grdens, 1800 Glen Allen Avenue, Wheaton, MD 20902. The Garden Clubs of District II, NCAGC, will present a Standard Flower Show, All Things Bright & Beautiful, on April 17 & 18, 2008 at River Farm, headquarters of the American Horticultural Society. The show will be open to the public for viewing on April 17 (1:30 - 5:00 pm) and April 18 (9:00 am - 1:00 pm). Admission is free. River Farm is located at 7931 East Boulevard Drive, Alexandria, VA. Five Seasons Gardeners Garden Club will present a Small-Standard Flower Show, The Splendor of Spring, on Thursday, April 17, 2008. It will be open to the public from 12:30 - 3:00 pm at 8880 Ash Grove Lane, Vienna VA 22182. Ayr Hill Garden Club of Vienna, Virginia, will present a Home Show, Welcome!, a Standard Flower Show, on April 27, 2008, at 307 Windover Ave., NEW, Vienna, VA. The public is invited from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. Free Admission. May 2008 The Laurel Garden Club of Burke/Springfield, Virginia, will present a Small-Standard Flower Show, Garden Treasures for Mom, on May 19, 2008, at White Oak Elementary School, 6130 Shiplett Blvd., Burke, Virginia. The public is invited to view from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Free Admission. June 2008 The Garden Clubs of District III, NCAGC will present a Small-Standard Flower Show at the District III Presidents' Coffee on June 20, 2008, at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens. The National Capital Daylily Club and the NCAGC invite you to the 44th Annual Daylily Show on June 29, 2008, at Brookside Gardens Visitor Center, 1800 Glenallan Ave., Wheaton, MD. The show will be open to the public from 1:30 to 5:00 pm. The show will follow the American Hemerocallis Society (AHS) rules and include a Design Division. Anyone may enter the Horticulture Division. Doors open to entrants at 7:30 am. Off-scape entries (blooms) must be given to the Placement Committee by 10 am. Design and other horticulture entries are due by 10:30 am.
