ArborFest Saturday, April 19, 2008, 1:00-4:00 p.m. What better way to celebrate spring than by planting trees and having fun at the same time. That is what is going to happen on Saturday, April 19, 1-4 p.m. at Noble Park, Paducah when the Parks Dept. and The Garden Club of Kentucky sponsor ArborFest. There will be activities for children 4-14. There will be something for everyone from A to Z. There will be an Art contest with winning entries being displayed at PAPA Gallery, Bird House Building, Corn Toss, Girl Scouts may earn their Girl Scout/Garden Club of Kentucky Environmental Patch, Goody bags, Haiku (poetry) contest, Leaf transfer, Leaf and tree ID Pine Cone Bird Feeder Making, Sensory Garden Planting, Smokey Bear will be hand out free seedling trees, Storytelling, Tree Climbing Demonstration, and a Zoo – that is a petting zoo and much, much more.
And it is all Free! The day will end with presentations for The Biggest Tree Award, Tree City USA flag, and Girl Scout patches.
