ArborFest Saturday, April 19, 2008, 1:00-4:00 p.m.

What better way to celebrate spring than by planting trees and having fun at the same time.

That is what is going to happen on Saturday, April 19, 1-4 p.m. at Noble Park, Paducah when the Parks Dept. and The Garden Club of Kentucky sponsor ArborFest.

There will be activities for children 4-14.
There will be something for everyone from A  to Z.

• There will be an Art contest with winning entries being displayed at PAPA Gallery,
• Bird House Building,
• Corn Toss,
• Girl Scouts may earn their Girl Scout/Garden Club of Kentucky Environmental Patch,
• Goody bags,
• Haiku (poetry) contest,
• Leaf transfer,
• Leaf and tree ID
• Pine Cone Bird Feeder Making,
• Sensory Garden Planting,
• Smokey Bear will be hand out free seedling trees,
• Storytelling,
• Tree Climbing Demonstration, and
• a Zoo – that is a petting zoo and much, much more.

And it is all Free!

The day will end with presentations for The Biggest Tree Award, Tree City USA flag, and Girl Scout patches.
