Goals of the Seedlings Garden Club - To cultivate an appreciation of nature and beauty both at
home and in the community. - To work to conserve flora and fauna.
- To raise funds for and/or participate in any endeavors that
promote these endeavors.
History of Seedlings Garden Club Seedlings Garden Club was started in 1949 by Ruth Swanson, as an evening club from Oakvale Garden Club. Throughout the years, Seedlings has donated funds and/or time to many local organizations, from the School of Hope in 1960 to Klehm Arboretum in 2004. Each year part of our dues goes to support local environmental groups such as the National Land Institute and the Northern Illinois Botanical Society.
