DRYING AND PRESSING FLOWERS
Joann Loebel, former GCI Board member and author of “Flowers Are For Keeping”, will talk about keeping our garden treasurers longer through the art of drying and pressing.
Samples of items you can embellish include note cards, bookmarks, trays, candles, gourds, and more.
GOURD BIRD HOUSES
Karen Caldwell will conduct a workshop for members to paint and decorate gourd birdhouses. Prior sign up is required for materials. $15
CONTAINERS FOR THE HOLIDAYS
Sandy Just from Hinsdale Nurseries will demonstrate what is new for your decorative holiday containers.
GLAMOROUS POINSETTIAS AND MEMBERS HOLIDAY COOKIES
While munching on our home baked cookies members will watch a Poinsettia coloring and glittering demonstration by Ted’s Greenhouse of Tinley Park. Members will then participate in a workshop decorating their own poinsettia. Prior signup required. Fee.

Jacqueline France, an accomplished artist, will do a demonstration of painting a picture of a garden for us.
NEW FLORAL IDEAS FOR SPRING
Vince’s Floral Shop of Burr Ridge Parkway will do a floral demonstration.
PERFECT PERENNIALS FOR PERPETUAL COLOR FOR REAL LAZY GARDENERS
Greg Bartoshuk, winner of the Outstanding Master Gardener of the Year, a daylily hybridizer and past president of the Northshore Iris and Daylily Society will
help us put the garden on “automatic pilot” with ideas to give us garden color almost
all year without much work.
ANNUAL SALAD LUNCHEON FUNDRAISER
Members will donate 2 salads, their time and effort to raise funds for our club programs and projects. Scholarship will be presented. Pre-purchased ticket is required.
GARDEN TRIP AND INSTALLATION OF OFFICERS
7:00 a.m. members that signed up will meet at Pleasantdale Park District and board a bus with club member and tour organizer, Sharon K., to take a full-day trip to Elkhart and the Amish Quilt Garden in Shipshewana. Time for shopping too! Installation of new officers will occur.
