The Elmhurst Garden Club will be presenting the Elmhurst Garden Walk & Faire Sunday, July 12, 2009. It will be our 14th and hopefully, as successful as its predecessors. We have 7 unique gardens this year each with their own personality and style. They run the gamut from a private corner lot to a very conservation-minded garden. The tickets are $10 in advance and $15 the day of the Walk. So get those tickets early. There is a convenient form below. Again, as in the past we are recommending that the funds be donated to scholarships and community projects that carry out our mission. To-date our Garden Walks have generated over $145,000. The Mildred Hartney College Scholarship Fund will provide scholarships to students majoring in Horticulture, Environmental Studies, Biology, Botany and other related sciences. With the rising cost of college, the Elmhurst Garden Club would like to continue to support and build this program to award even more scholarships. Last year we started to support the proposed Children’s Garden for the new Elmhurst Memorial Hospital. We will be continuing that support along with support for the YMCA, Elmhurst Park District, Elmhurst College and Elmhurst Public School programs.
