Our Purpose The purpose of the Bolingbrook Garden Club is to promote and encourage the exchange of horticultural knowledge, to foster interest in gardening, and to promote horticultural projects throughout the community. Activities l Monthly Meetings: In addition to learning from each other, we invite local and regional experts to give garden-related programs, slide presentations and demonstrations. l Workshops: Approximately twice a year we hold garden-related workshops. Past workshops have included building birdhouses, learning how to sharpen tools, and making wreaths with dried flowers. l Garden Walks: Each summer, the Club's Garden Walk Committee arranges for the Club to visit outstanding local gardens. These outings provide ideas and inspiration for our own gardens. l Civic Projects: Currently the Club is partnering with the Bolingbrook Park District to improve local natural areas. Past projects include designing and planting gardens for the local library, Village Hall and a local junior high school, as well as providing scholarships to local horticulture students. l Plant Sale: Each May, we sell plants which we have dug from our gardens or which we have raised from seed. The proceeds from this sale fund the rest of the club's activities.
