Hello Dear Members and Friends,
I just cannot believe that another year has gone by once again! I’m afraid that the older one gets, the faster time seems to fly! But we have had another excellent year at the Garden Club and enjoyed seeing each other and enjoying wonderful programs and the camaraderie of old friends.
As I write this it is simply frigid outside and snow covers the ground – I keep wondering if spring is truly around the corner and if, once this thaws, I may see a few tulips or daffodils peeking through. It may be too early for that, but wishful thinking keeps us all going through these dreary days of winter.
Our Christmas Party was a tremendous success once again. Thanks to Linda for the wonderful arrangements and to everyone who attended and brought thoughtful and tasty gifts. I really enjoyed the evening and hope that you all did too.
I also want to note here what a fun evening we enjoyed when we made the door hanging ornaments this year. What superb teamwork!!! Honestly, I was amazed at how fast we got things done and how absolutely beautiful everything looked. Thank you so much. I know that Mary will tell us that the Nursing Home folk enjoyed these crafts this year again.
Our January meeting is the Annual General Meeting of the Club and I do hope that everyone will attend. We have some fine new members and it would be a great time to welcome them and make them feel at home in our group. Remember please that it is time to elect new Board Members, so get your thinking cap on in this respect and, if you feel so inclined, please volunteer to help us grow and prosper in the year to come.
As always it is not only a pleasure, but indeed a privilege, to have served you for the past year and I take this opportunity to wish you and yours a very Happy New Year filled with good health, fine friends and fun activities.
