Local Projects Uncle Remus Museum and Turner Park The design and maintenance of the gardens (flowers, perennials, herbs and bog) at the Uncle Remus Museum and Turner Park in Eatonton, GA is one of our ongoing projects. Click here to get more information on Turner Park.
Putnam County Library Landscaping This year we began a project to revitalize the landscaping at the Putnam County library. The main entrance was the first area to be landscaped. After that, we replanted the gated area in front of the Carnegie Library building. Rock Eagle 4-H Camp Sponsorship of 3 campers annually
Putnam Christian Outreach Canned goods collected at our September meeting
Senior Citizens Center Items ($3.00 approximately) for bingo prizes collected at our January meeting - good place for those “white elephants” received during the holidays
Service League Cash donation to be used to buy toys for the “Toys for Tots” program
DFACS Toiletries and paper products for senior citizens collected at April meeting
State Club Projects Supported
Garden Therapy Members do Christmas stockings for Central State Hospital patients Club also gives a cash donation
Fig Leaf Program Clothing donated by members for Central State Hospital patients (especially undergarments for both men and women)
Calendar Sales College scholarships for students within the State of Georgia supported by calendar sales 100% participation by our club – payment is included in club dues
Roadside Beautification Club gives a cash donation annually
Friends of the Garden Club gives a cash donation annually in support of the State Botanical Gardens in Athens.
