Merry Tillers Garden Club
Thomson, Georgia

We meet the second Monday of each month except July and August.
The Merry Tillers Garden Club is a long-standing and club here in Thomson that participates in many civic projects such as: creating a Butterfly Garden at the Elementary School here in Thomson, a booth at the Christmas on Main Street Festival, raising money for gardening supplies for Thomson Middle School's Gardening Program and more. We have a great deal of pride in our town and care for one of the Welcome to Thomson signs at the edge of town.
 | There is usually a Fall Project that we coordinate with the Garden Council and each year in May there is a Camelia Day with programs that the district Garden Clubs are invited to for a day of fellowship and enjoyment that we help to plan and implement. Some of the favorite activities our club participate in are field trips, an annual Pumpkin Carving contest, pool party in June, and in the past we've had Plant Auctions, Tours of historic homes, Yard of the Month, and McDuffie County Garden Council. We have also participated in Open Houses with all flower arrangments done by our club and the other Thomson Garden Clubs to raise money for worthwhile projects in the town and surrounding area. |
Current Members: Karen Meeks-President, Beth Rodgers-Vice President, Debbie Howell-Treasurer, Lynn Shelton-Secretary, Shelly Sivas Morris, Kim New, Angela Oubre, Lucretia Ferguson, and Tonja Young.
