The Book Nook
February Book Review
Garden Club of South Carolina
Spring is just around the corner; many of you gardeners have already made plans for the transformation of your garden. True “diggers in the dirt” rarely ever are totally satisfied with what they have. Thus the search goes forward.
To add to this itch I bring to your attention “50 High-Impact, Low-Care Garden Plants” by Tracy Disabato-Aust, published by Timber Press in 2008, with a second printing in 2009.
This savvy lady leads a busy life and has carried this over into her book. She recommends tough-but beautiful-plants that any of us can grow. The text is well written, beautifully photographed, and Tracy will add to your knowledge in her charming but sensible manner.
This book is one of several books written by Disabato-Aust. She has been featured in Horticulture, Fine Gardening and Garden Design magazines. Again, this book can be purchased on Amazon.com and in local book stores. It is available in soft and hard cover.
Let me know if you like the books I have reviewed and please do make suggestions for future books to read and write about.

PS-Tom and I are in South America. You never know what I may review next-the Tango is a dance, not a plant-yes, no, maybe-we’ll see.
