Waltham 11/18 General Meeting & Workshop: American Legion 215 Waverley Oaks Road Waltham Our own Courtney will guide us to create a beautiful table arrangement for Thanksgiving. Then, she'll teach us her magic in order to transform the arrangement for the Christmas and New Year holidays. You'll have a beautiful accent for the entire holiday season. Cost for the workshop is $15.00 for members, $20.00 for non-members. Hospitality: Bettina Dalton 11/21 Decorate City Hall for the Holidays. We begin at 4:00 PM. Each year members decorate Waltham's City Hall for the holiday season. Please see Gail or Courtney if you would like to help out on this worthwhile project. DECEMBER 2008 12/6 SATURDAY Holiday Design Show with Bill Graham at The Paine Estate Gentlemen’s Way Waltham. 12:00 - 1:00 Light refreshments Holiday Design Show Come and enjoy a wonderful day at the Historic Paine Estate and learn something new from our all time favorite designer extraordinaire, Bill Graham. Win a chance to take home one of Bill’s amazing designs in our raffle. Tickets may be purchased at the ALL MEMBERS ARE TO BAKE OR BRING AN ITEM TO SHARE. MONETARY DONATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED IN LIEU OF ITEMS 1/20 - General Meeting and Pot Luck Supper We will share a pot luck supper followed by a general meeting. This will give us a chance to discuss and plan the activities of our Garden Club. This program is designed to help us select plants that are the best performers in our area. We will be introduced to 30 plants that are happy to grow in New England. Some will pay the rent by having multiple seasons of interest, others by being low maintenance, and almost all are drought tolerant Exhibitor: Alexis Shaw 2/19 - 2/22 - Rhode Island Flower Show 3/3 - Board Meeting at the home of Gail Drakos 173 Adams St. Waltham #781-891-6816 7:00 PM 3/17 - Happy St. Patrick’s Day - Men’s Night & General Meeting American Legion Hall 215 Waverley Oaks Rd Hiking the Appalachian Trail presented by: Arthur Gaudet Waltham native, and brother of our own Bernice King, Arthur Gaudet, has hiked extensively in New England and throughout the U.S. He has hiked the 2175 miles of the Appalachian Trail both northbound and southbound. He will share his hiking experiences with his presentation and photos of the people, animals, landscape, and flowers of places "off the beaten path". We will learn about creating a haven to attract birds; including food, plants, houses, shelter, and water. Bird houses will be for sale after the presentation.
