 RESTORATION OF PALMER'S OLMSTEAD GARDEN - Robin Lamothe, co-owner of Steaming Tender Restaurant in Palmer is currently working on a plan to restore the famous garden at the Palmer depot which was a major crossroad for railroad traffic in the late 1800s.

that gather each month to further expand their knowledge of horticulture.

SPECIAL PROJECTS

FLOWER DISTRIBUTION - Members learn to arrange flowers by practicing.  Our designs are distributed to nursing homes and area shut-ins

GARDEN THERAPY - Members share their gardening knowledge and skills to aid the patients toward recovery and rehabilitation

JUNIOR GARDEN THERAPY - Members work with children of all ages at Shriners Hospital for Children

SCHOLARSHIPS - Awarded to qualified students pursuing advanced studies related to the fields of horticulture and environmental sciences

PLANT SALE - Annual fund raiser to support our scholarship fund

FLORAL DESIGN GROUPS - Meetings offer a chance for novice and advanced designers to improve their skills in floral design

FLOWER SHOW - Educational opportunities for the membership and public in the fields of horticulture, conservation and floral design

YOUTH OUTREACH - Conservation session and tree planting for Arbor Day in cooperation with Girl Scouts

BUS TOURS-Trips to museums, public gardens, arboretums and flower shows helps members broaden their appreciation of floral varieties, growing conditions, historic context and design awareness

LECTURES AND DEMONSTRATIONS-Lectures at our monthly meetings are given by professional experts in various fields within horticulture, floral design and conservation

STORROWTON VILLAGE- A committee helps to decorate historical buildings open to the public at the Big E fairgrounds during December.

SPRINGFIELD MUSUEMS-The club funds and assists with certain planting on the Quadrangle grounds

NEW PROJECT

FEDERATION-BACKED TAB RECYCLING PROGRAM-Collect metallic tabs for Shriners Hospital-the hospital received 85 cents per pound for the metal
