The Springfield Garden Club is pleased to announce the availability of two $2,000
Scholarship to students who plan to major in an environmental studies program. These
students are to study horticulture, floriculture, landscape design, conservation, forestry,
botany, agronomy, plant pathology, environmental control, land management, and allied
subject areas.

This notice may be duplicated and posted.  Applicants must be residents of Hampden County.  Applications are available on our website at: gardencentral.org/gcfm/springfield/.  Please mail completed forms to the Scholarship Committee member listed below.  Former applicants and recipients may reapply.  The deadline for all applications is March 31, 2007.

Scholarships are available for students majoring in Horticulture, Floriculture, Landscape Design, Conservation, Forestry, Agronomy, Environmental Concerns, Land Management, Botany, Biology, and other Allied subjects.  Applicants must be residents of Hampden County. This application may be duplicated.  All information must be printed, typed or computer generated.

Required with application:

            1. Official transcripts from all school attended.
            2. A brief essay (100-200 words typed or computer generated)) about your goals, 
                aspirations and career plans.
            3. A list of activities in which you have participated. Listing special honors and/or 
                leadership positions.
            4. 3 letters of reference (friend, employer, teacher).
            5. Financial Aid Form (see page 2)

Deadline:  All completed applications must be received by March 31, 2007.

SCHOLARSHIP FINANCIAL AID FORM
For High School Seniors, College and Graduate Students

This form must be completed by the student, and must be signed.

This information will be held in strictest confidence. It will be available only to members
of the Scholarship Committee of the Springfield Garden Club. Since actual financial need
is one of the determining factors in the awarding of scholarships, it is necessary that all of
the requested information be supplied.

Use of the following form to show all anticipated sources of funds, including scholarships
other than anticipated one from Springfield Garden Club, educational insurance policies,
etc., as well as all projected costs involved for attending college in the 2007-2008 school
year. It is not required that projected resources and expenditures balance.
