GCFM 501C3 Umbrella Status Renewal
As a 501C3 club under the Federation umbrella, you are subject to general supervision by submitting to the Federation an annual financial report with any address or contact changes by October 1 of each year.
To renew your 501C3 status with the Federation you must:
Already be under the Federation umbrella.
Send the following information to the Federation by October 1 of the current calendar year:
1. Send a cover letter or use the renewal form below with the:
a. Name of your club
b. Club’s EIN#(Employee Identification Number – looks like social security number
c. The name of a contact person who can answer financial questions.
d. Contact person’s contact information.
e. Any address or contact person changes from previous year.
2. A copy of the income and expense or profit and lose statement for the previous year. (This is similar to filing income taxes. You send in for the year that has just passed.) This statement should show what money has come into your club and from what sources and what money has been spent and in what categories. This is not a copy of your checking account.
3. If your club’s gross income from projects, donations, dues, etc., is over $25,000, you must file taxes with the Federal Government. A copy of the filing form (IRS form 990-EZ) must be included with the information you send to the Federation.
4. No filing fee is necessary.
