FLOWER SHOW NEWS

  1. Entries for horticulture must be submitted by March 14, 2010 to Janice Falco.
  2. Each circle is to provide 2 cakes for the Friday evening event. 
    Each cake should serve 10 and can be brought to our March 19 meeting.
  3. Dr. Walter Taylor will be at the Friday evening event.  He will be signing his book.  He may also be at the Saturday public event.

WE HOPE TO SEE YOU AT THE SHOW!

Now that spring is on its’ way, please let us know of the events we can all enjoy.

TETE ALEXANDER of Lancaster Park Circle died recently.  Cards may be sent to the family.

MARGIE BECK of Azalea Park Circle, is in Rehab. She can receive phone calls.

CIRCLE NEWS

AZALEA CIRCLE – Will donate along with LANCASTER PARK CIRCLE $100 to CAMP WEKIVA.  Thank you.

COLLEGE PARK CIRCLE – Will be going to the Orange County Extension Center.  This will be a make-up from the January event that was cancelled due to cold.  Let’s hope it will be warmer!

GREEN THUMB CIRCLE – Was to go in February to POPPY’S STRAWBERRY FARM to pick strawberries but due to the cold, met at OGC to discuss their plans for this month’s hostess duties and the upcoming Flower Show.  They also discussed making copper penny carrots for the Card Party.  They then went to Boston’s Fish House for lunch. 

LAKE SILVER SHORES CIRCLE – Brought designs for the Flower Show and had a judge critique them.  They will serve the refreshments at the Flower Show’s Friday evening event.  Thank you.

LANCASTER PARK CIRCLE – Held a Garage Sale at BLANCA’s and MARIA’s home.  They made $350.  Well done ladies and gent!

ORANGE BLOSSOM CIRCLE -  Is in charge of the CARD PARTY and met to discuss door prizes and other details to make this a great event.  Everyone please come.

TANGERINE CIRCLE – Met in the home of JOHN and JANICE FALCO for dinner and a general discussion.

THIS and THAT

Circle Presidents and all OGC Chairmen provide a written report in duplicate at the March meeting. Be prepared to read it!

Each circle is to supply items for door prizes for the Card Party.  Needed are gift certificates, items to fill baskets such as soaps and candles, also wine and wine glasses.

The BETA CENTER (a home for homeless teen mothers) wants to start a Community Garden with OGC.  Volunteers are needed.  Please contact MAUREEN TRIBOU.

LANCASTER PARK CIRCLE will continue their Garage Sale at the OGC at the April meeting.  Twenty percent (20%) of the proceeds will go to OGC.

The last “DIGGING IT” class will be held on March 9.

LAKE SILVER SHORES CIRCLE took a day to clean the men’s and women’s bathrooms, the kitchen, telephone booth and coat closet.  They did an excellent job.  CAROL WESSON took pictures at Epcot and hung them in the bathroom. Thank you so much.

FAY GOODMAN needs the names of last year’s deceased members.

Our Web site will be closed on March 31.

REMINDER:  Yearly dues are due this month.  They are currently $30.00 for singles,  $35.00 for members at large and associates; $18 for FFGC life members, and $40.00 for a couple in the same circle.
