The Miracle fruit tree produces red berries that change your taste buds to sweet, even a lemon will taste sweet! Jaboticaba produces purple fruit that grows on the tree trunk! Black Sapote has fruit like chocolate pudding. The Jak tree bears fruit the size of a watermelon. Monstera vine has huge leaves and yields a banana/pineapple flavored fruit. The Tamarind is a beautiful tree whose fruit is used in tropical drinks. There are over 40 tropical trees in this exotic fruit garden, which was started nine years ago. |

MILLPOND Hobbyist Garden 2291 NW 35th Street take St. Andrews north of Glades to Potomac. Turn west and enter Millpond. Turn right at the stop sign on Pine Haven Circle. Third right is 35th Street...This garden was started three years ago when moving into a house with only a lawn and a few large trees. Now it is a hobbyist gardener's paradise! It was never formally designed but grew out of a love and interest in Florida plants. Once started, the garden took on a life of its own with a combination of foliage and flowering plants, orchids and rare fruit trees. It is always changing and evolving, always surprising and fascinating. It is a haven and a labor of love! |

THE ESTATES Romantic Rose Garden 1900 Spanish River Road and Seminole Drive enter from Camino Real just east of the Intracoastal...Feast your eyes on 180 rose bushes of floribunda, hybrid teas, shrubs and English roses. The visual display is awesome! About five years ago, the owner wanted something distinctive for his yard, not the usual Florida tropical landscape. He retained Craig Morell, who was the horticulturist at the Boca Raton Resort, to design and plant a romantic rose garden. Planting the bushes in masses of the same variety creates a dramatic effect. On the left side view Angel Face, Belinda's Dream, St. Patrick and Gold Meadow. On the right are Double Delight and Europeana bushes. The trellis has Don Juan, a deep crimson rose climber with 8-10 foot canes growing straight up. See this garden and fall in love! |
