January 11, 2008 - Japanese Tea Luncheon A Japanese Tea Luncheon was held at the clubhouse on January 11, 2008. Chairman, Emilie Palmieri, and her committee did a wonderful job of serving Asian Spinach Salad and pineapple upside-down cake (made by Jean McGrath), with 3 varieties of tea for us all to sample. The club was decorated in Japanese style, and everyone attending wore a favorite hat and brought a tea cup and saucer. There was a contest for the best hat. Our speaker, Naomi Turk, from the Morikami Museum explained the rituals of the tea service. (Click photos to enlarge)
