At the annual luncheon, a brief business meeting was held, during which this year’s scholarship winner was announced.
Scholarship
The Boca Raton Garden Club 2009 Annual Scholarship was awarded to Kathleen Ellerie.
Kathleen wasn’t present at the luncheon, so President Barbara Horan presented the award to her grandmother, member Jean Ellerie.

Guest Speaker Steve Abrams
County Commissioner Steve Abrams addressed the meeting and presented a proclamation recognizing June 7 -13 as National Garden Week.

New Members
2 new members were installed. Carolyn Buonomo introduced Evangeline Lewis and Milagros Pinal-Rincon.

Installation of Officers
The Officers’ ceremony had a patriotic theme. Flags were presented to each incoming officer as she was introduced, and bromeliad plants were presented to each as well.
