The Federated Garden Clubs of New York State, Inc., was founded in 1924 and incorporated in 1930 for the purpose of supporting the Garden Clubs of New York State. The FGCNYS presently includes 332 garden clubs with 10,000 members across the state.
Membership in the Federated Garden Clubs of New York State, Inc. offers garden club members the opportunity and privilege of participating with others in advancing and promoting the objectives and purposes for which the State Federation was formed:
Beautification
Preservation
Conservation
OBJECTIVES AND PURPOSES
1. Coordination of interest of member clubs and promotion of mutual helpfulness.
2. Encouragement of environmental improvement.
3. Advancement of the arts of gardening, flower arranging, landscape design.
4. Leadership of Juniors, Intermediate, and high school gardener groups.
5. Encouragement of garden therapy programs.
6. Cooperation with other organizations to promote interest in horticulture and plant research.
