	CLUB PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE I joined the garden club for interesting and educational programs and to learn from other members.  I discovered friendly people who share an appreciation for the Earth and living things.   Now it is my honor to serve as president of the second oldest chapter in Missouri. “Touch the Earth Beyond the Garden Gate”, our theme this year, reminds us of our goals as part of the National Garden Clubs; to conserve natural resources, preserve our heritage, improve horticultural and conservation practices, and develop appreciation of natural beauty.  These goals are as timely today as they were when our founders created them in 1919.  Join us and see what we are doing in the Columbia community.
